2018 History Tours

April 4-8, 2018 – 5th Annual National Ed Bearss Symposium on Military Leadership & Combat

Featuring Edwin Bearss, Daniel Toomey, Steve Bockmiller, Jim Schmick, & others based in Chambersburg, Pa

Sessions on all aspects of American military history including a tour of the decisive 1814 battle of Baltimore, which saved the city from destruction and yielded our national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. Tour also includes frontier forts in the Cumberland Valley with Fort Loudon and Fort McCord as well as visiting the National Civil War Museum, U.S. Army War College and other sites in Harrisburg. Optional tour of Shepherdstown battlefield, historic confederate graves and more.

July 24-29, 2018 – “Roads to Gettysburg: Brandy Station and Second Winchester”

Featuring Eric Wittenberg, J.D. Petruzzi, Jerry Holsworth, Steve French, Jeffrey Wert, & others.

We will follow the Blue and Gray on their roads to Gettysburg. Tour the decisive battle ground of Brandy Station, where J.E.B. Stuart and his horsemen battled the Yankees in the largest cavalry action in North America. Also touring the newly restored Second Winchester battlefield where Confederates opened the gates of the great Valley for the invasion of Pennsylvania. Bonus tours will include Aldie, Upperville, Middleburg, and Mosby’s Confederacy. Conference based in Chambersburg, Pa.

October 10-14, 2018 – Lincoln: Mr. Lincoln’s Washington & John Wilkes Booth Escape Tour

Featuring Joan Chaconas, Ed Steers, & others

Tours of Mr. Lincoln’s Washington, John Wilkes Booth Escape Route and historic Frederick, Maryland. Sites include Ford’s Theatre, Lincoln Memorial, Old Soldiers’ Home where Lincoln visited, Surratt Tavern, Dr. Mudd House, and more. Bonus tours will include “In the Footsteps of the Presidents” seeing unique  views as Abraham Lincoln, James Buchanan and Dwight D. Eisenhower at Gettysburg, Antietam, and the Cumberland Valley.
